Value of Our Vedas

READ WITH DIGNITY AND PRIDE………

First Recording Ever Made

HMV had once published a pamphlet giving the history of gramophone record. Gramophone was invented by Thomas Alva Edison in the 19th century. Edison, who had invented many other gadgets like electric light and the motion picture camera, had become a legend even in his own time.

When He invented the gramophone record, which could record human voice for posterity, he wanted to record the voice of an eminent scholar on his first piece. For that he chose Prof. Max Muller of England, another great personality of the 19th century. He wrote to Max Muller saying, "I want to meet you and record your voice. When should I come?" Max Muller who had great respect for Edison asked him to come on a suitable time when most of the scholars of the Europe would be gathering in England.

Accordingly Edison took a ship and went to England. He was introduced to the audience. All cheered Edison's presence. Later at the request of Edison Max Muller came on the stage and spoke in front of the instrument. Then Edison went back to his laboratory and by afternoon came back with a disc. He played the gramophone disc from his instrument. The audience was thrilled to hear the voice of Max Muller from the instrument. They were glad that voices of great persons like Max Muller could be stored for the benefit of posterity.

After several rounds of applause and congratulations to Thomas Alva Edison, Max Muller came to the stage and addressed the scholars and asked them, "You heard my original voice in the morning. Then you heard the same voice coming out from this instrument in the afternoon. Do you understand what I said in the morning or what you heard in the afternoon?"

The audience fell silent because they could not understand the language in which Max Muller had spoken. It was `Greek and Latin' to them as they say. But had it been Greek or Latin, they would have definitely understood because they were from various parts of Europe. It was in a language which the European scholars had never heard.

Max Muller then explained what he had spoken. He said that the language he spoke was Sanskrit and it was the first shloka of Rig Veda, which says "Agni Meele Purohitam". This was the first recorded public version on the gramophone plate.

Why did Max Muller choose this? Addressing the audience he said, "Vedas are the oldest text of the human race. And Agni Meele Purohitam is the first verse of Rig Veda. In the most primordial time when the people of Europe were jumping like Chimpanzees, from tree to tree and branch to branch, when they did not know how to cover their bodies, but with fig leaves, did not know agriculture and lived by hunting and lived in caves, at that remote past, Indians had attained high civilization and they gave to the world universal philosophies in the form of the Vedas.

Self Discipline....

Today's work should be completed today itself. If it is to be carried to the next day, for unwarranted reasons, it invites trouble. We need to be disciplined to be systematic to arrange all our duties for the day, with a schedule and proceed with it, according to our plan, as may be required for that particular job / jobs. Contingency management should be kept in place for an unexpected change in the scheduled plans.
By this, we do not carry any burden of that day to the next day. This will in turn, bring peace of mind, leading us to good sleep at night.
A systematic person can, not only bring in discipline in himself, but also set a precedence to the others to follow suit, by his good virtues.
Self development is also achieved by Self Discipline. Try to follow it.

Self Belief....

Believe in yourself....
It is the self confidence, which can take us through the rough seas, we are sailing, day to day. Belief in oneself, is the biggest asset God has bestowed on man. Nothing is impossible for a willing heart. For this to happen, you should have faith on God first and then on the self.
Faith on self, brings in tons of Positive energy around us. We are compelled to carry the same around, where ever we go. It will have its influence not only on ourself, but also spreads around us. Its vibrations, transforms, all the weak energy, into positive ones on contact.
It will also influence people and matters around us, benefiting both the giver and the receiver.
Hence believe in self, to have a successful day and a happy life.

Have a wonderful day....

Understand the Truth...

We have come into this world, empty handed. We leave this world, taking nothing. This is the universal truth, accepted even by the Atheists.
Now, why worry that you have not achieved something or take responsibility, which you are not accountable for, squeezing the mind and bringing in unwanted pressures, both at home and work.
Be aware of the fact that, all our activities are pre-written and controlled by our virtues of the good and bad deeds, of our past.
We are always controlled by That Supreme Power and the right way to lead this life, is to unconditionally surrender to Him.
Appointments lead to Dis-Appointments. Hence do things without any expectation in return.
This way, you can shed all your worries, as to the results, as you leave the same to HIM.
Everything that starts well, will end well.

Have a wonderful day........

You are what you are.....

Take a new currency note in your hand, say Rs.10 or $10. The value of it, on hand is 10.
Crush or squeeze it with your hand and throw it down. What will be the value of that currency.
Has the value of the currency, got reduced, just because it is crushed or its thrown down. It remains the same.

Likewise, we always remain the same, in whatever situation we may be. We are not only let down by others as well, many a times, by ourselves. Its our own inferiority complex which pulls us down. We are in no way lesser than what you think you are, in that given situation of agony. Do not let yourselves down. Cheer up. Its the energy within you, will always be your best friend and Saviour.

You are what you are....
Have a wonderful day...

Start the day......

Try wake early between 4 and 5 am, which is part of the "Brahma Muhurtham".

Vedas says this is the time, when the Devas go about in the sky, chanting "Ta Thasthu", meaning, your wish is granted. This is the time we grab this opportunity to obtain our good wishes for the day from the Divine.

Early birds are fresh, ready to observe all the abundant energy available around us. It will help us plan well for the day, for the routines and all other contingencies.

It is the right time to do meditation, for you to try reach the Absolute, called "THOUGHTLESS STATE". Your mind becomes cool and calm. Once you are through with this, your mind brings in all the solutions to your problems and questions, pondering over you.

You will need to practice it, over a period of time. Enjoy the numerous benefits.
